I had the great honor and pleasure of appearing on KWGN's, 'Everyday Show', with Natalie Tysdal on Friday, October 8, 2010. http://bit.ly/cKW2eh

This came out of winning $500.00 for my winning entree, 'Cheesy Stuffed Steak Rolls in Shallot Sauce' in the 'Real Women of Philadelphia' contest, using Philadelphia Cream Cheese and sponsored by Kraft Foods. Following are related links:

The adventure to Denver started at 6 a.m. the day prior, shopping for the ingredients for both a "raw" and a cooked version of the dish being demonstrated during the show. There were a lot of other things to take care of during the day and I finally got out of town around 6:30 p.m. and to my son's house, outside Boulder, around 11:00 p.m. It took a while to unload the 4 crates of food and equipment and then had to start prepping and laying out the food to cook when I awoke the following morning at 5:30 a.m.

I ended up I only got 3.5 hours of sleep but got right to work, showering, putting on make-up, doing my hair and getting out the door by 8:50 a.m., since I needed to be ready to go to meet my liaison, Mary Latsis, in the lobby of KWGN at 9:45 for the hour long set up period. It took all of that! I had great assistance from Mary and the intern, (I think named Andrea). I got to see Tom Green and meet Chris Parente, the other host of the 'Everyday Show', who is a vegetarian and didn't stay for the segment. :^)

The time went so fast. Setting up the demo counter with flowers, a bowl of fresh vegetables from my garden, ingredients to demo, a pan with fresh spinach steaming and another with wine, balsamic vinegar and shallots simmering, a butcher board & knife and a dining set up for the host, Natalie. The four minutes "on air", went by so quickly! It was a BLURRRR!

I'd like to Thank Mary Latsis for her wonderful help, support and enthusiasm. I will always remember her for being such an integral part of this incredible memory. I'd also like to Thank Kraft Foods, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Real Women of Philadelphia, Eqal, Greg Goodfried and his wonderful staff, Audie Metcalf & Kourtney Schepman.

P.S. There are captions for some of the photos, viewable in the 'Slideshow' mode, found in the top right corner of the site tool bar.

P.P.S. After my appearance at KWGN, I took advantage of my time in the metro area to go to Food Bank of the Rockies and to the Arvada Community Food Bank, to take photos, a video interview and to capture stories and the new faces of hunger in the U.S.
